Each resident's quality of life is our first concern

The Cambridgeshire Care Home has a full-time activities coordinator who works with each resident to develop a programme of activities designed to meet the spiritual, physical and social needs of each individual.

There are a wide range of activities available and residents are able to continue their pursuit of hobbies and lead as active a lifestyle as they wish. There are plenty of events each week from arts and crafts to performances, to regular outings. Special interests are accommodated wherever possible.

Cinema Room

We have a fully equipped cinema room where Residents can enjoy their favourite films, both old and new. The walls are covered with classic Hollywood movie posters such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s. With rows of comfy chairs to relax in, as well as being a fantastic place to watch a film, the surroundings evoke enjoyable memories of past cinema visits.

Themed Events

At the Cambridgeshire Care Home, we also have several special weeks where there are themed events – some of these are to help raise money for charity which provides a wonderful opportunity to build community spirit within the home whilst making a difference for some very worthy causes.

Life Stories

Underpinning our activity planning is the creation of a ‘Life Story’ for every resident in our care home. Although ‘Life Stories’ were originally created for residents living with dementia to help create a record of the person’s life, they provided a fantastic resource for understanding and engagement and are now rolled out to every resident who wishes to take part.

We use My Life Software to help us with Resident Life Stories. My Life Software contains a large collection of photographs, videos and music specifically chosen to spark recollections that can be used to form conversations and promote well-being.

We have no confirmed Covid-19 cases in our home

All of our Covid secure measures remain in place and this will not change following the Government guidance changes on 19 July 2021.

Visitors are asked to continue to wear a face covering, unless they are exempt, and to follow social distancing when visiting our care home. This follows the national Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Guidance for all healthcare settings and will help to ensure the safety of our staff and residents at all times.

Thank you for your continued support.
