John H, Friend Of Resident 31st July 2018

“I visited my old family friend at the Cambridgeshire Care Home whilst she stayed for two weeks respite. She was clearly being very well looked after and was enjoying being fussed over. Her room was lovely, overlooking the garden with its own balcony. We had lunch and a glass of wine together in the bistro which was excellent and then, as it was such a nice day, we stayed for tea and scones in the garden. I hope she goes back again soon so we can also return.”

An Individual Care Plan

To make sure we provide the correct care service to each resident, we action a pre-admission care assessment. This enables our home manger to test a resident’s needs and create each care plan. Our care plan is developed directly with the family to ensure it fulfils the resident’s needs. Should they desire, the potential resident can also provide input.

There are routine reviews of a resident’s care plan to make sure the correct care is always administered. Our care plans detail the health, spiritual, occupational and physical needs of our residents. We support all our occupant’s needs.

General Assistance

We strive to give our residents the greatest possible level of autonomy and will offer general assistance to best match their level. Our staff help with several tasks when required. Whether this is help getting ready, washing or general mobility. Our staff are always happy to help.

Our Resident's Well Being is Our Number One Priority

At The Cambridgeshire Care Home, our resident’s comfort and well being is the number one priority. Our team carry an iPad on them at all times which detail each resident’s routine and backstory. Changes to the routines are only made when completely necessary.

Residential Care For the Elderly

At The Cambridgeshire Care Home, we will ensure that our resident’s care will be tailored to the individual. Our approach has a person first focus and there is no exception to that rule.

Before admission to our home, the future resident will be subject to a ‘pre-admission’ assessment. With this assessment, our home manager will be able to tailor an individualised care plan to the resident’s needs. We have regular reviews of this care plan to make sure that the correct care is always given and to put in place any changes that need making.

We make each care plan to meet the specific needs of the individual. This includes spiritual, physical, occupational and day-to-day living needs. In our residential care home, our resident’s plan will enable them to partake in all the activities they enjoy, eat the foods they like and sleep at their own preferred time.

Assisted Living in Beautiful Surroundings

We recommend residents to bring personal possessions with them and to take part in exciting group activities. We put on craft sessions, reminiscence afternoons, coffee mornings and live music. All designed to help them feel at home while meeting the cognitive, sensory, social and emotional needs of each resident.

Our specialist residential home team include an expert mix of hospitality veterans, qualified nurses and caregivers. Giving caring support while:

  • Eating meals
  • Bathing
  • Taking medication

Our staff are always on hand to give the support our residents need but are aware of the resident’s right for privacy and independence.
